Fri 27 August: Le Jardin Flambee
9pm - 10.30pm
Critically acclaimed outdoor arts and
performance company Walk the Plank (who closed the
Commonwealth Games) will transform Central Park
into an installation piece, Le Jardin
Flambee. This fiery landscape will include flaming
thistles, lillies ejecting 10 foot flames, blazing bulrushes, fiery
trees and giant burping begonias, all bordered by hundreds of
flickering firepots.
This is a contemplative journey undertaken in one's own time at
one's own pace, rather than a story-led unfolding narrative. A
wonderful wander with gentle stewarding at key points to keep an
eye on numbers. Come and meander through the garden of fire, light
and sound.
The first wanderers will be allowed in around 9pm and the park
installation will stay alive until 10.30pm. There might be random
moments of magic or surprise - pyro, or flame or sounds - which
punctuate the rhythm of the journey.

Flame Oz will be joining the fun and will provide further fiery
entertainment on the streets as you wait to enter Le Jardin
Flambee.
"The performers were beautiful, their
skills were exceptional, the audience were spellbound during the
entire performance." Interactive Theatre Australia
