The Vale and Cardiff Regional Collaborative Committee

Regional Collaborative Committees (RCCs) make recommendations to the Welsh Government on Supporting People spending in their region.

 

There are 6 RCCs across Wales covering the 22 Local Authorities:

  • The Vale and Cardiff  - Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan
  • Gwent – Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen
  • Mid and West – Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys
  • Western Bay – Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot and Swansea
  • Cwm Taf – Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taff
  • North Wales – Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd and Wrexham.

 

What the committees do

Group of smiling peopleRCCs bring key stakeholders together from across each region. This ensures that planning and commissioning of Supporting People services makes the most effective use of Supporting People Programme Grant and meets local needs. The RCC is made of representatives from local authorities, health, probation, Supporting People service providers and landlords and also includes service users opinions.

 

The Vale and Cardiff Regional Collaborative Committee makes recommendations to the Welsh Government on Supporting People spending in its region. It is responsible for producing a Regional Commissioning Plan for Supporting People services. This takes account of local priorities and identifies the most effective way to meet local needs. It is advisory only and does not have executive powers or finance.
