School Consultations

Consultations for education and schools across the Vale of Glamorgan

Why do we consult on school organisation proposals?

A public consultation forms a key part of a statutory process and provides you with the opportunity to have your say on changes that are taking place in education and school organisation across the Vale of Glamorgan.

Our consultation process follows Welsh Government guidelines outlined in the School Organisation Code (2018).

Consultation helps us to understand how proposals for changes to schools and catchment areas might affect you.  It helps us to find out your views and lets us know about any ideas or suggestions you may have.

These views and opinions are reported to the Council’s Cabinet who will then make a decision on the views of those who have responded to the consultation. We consult because your input helps us to make sure that any changes that we propose is right for the future needs of the community.
