Welsh Medium Education Survey

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking the views of parents of children under two years of age about the demand for Welsh medium education and their preference for schooling in future.

The results of the survey will inform future demand for both Welsh and English medium school places in the Vale of Glamorgan to enable the authority to plan effectively and to deliver education that meets the needs of children in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The Council will use the results of the survey to gauge future demand to ensure there is sufficient provision for the coming years.  The results of the survey will be analysed anonymously and will not stop parents from changing their preference on Welsh or English medium education if they wish when children are due to start school. Parents will still have to register with the council's admissions team after their child's second birthday to receive an application pack for nursery education and primary education.

The survey will only take a few minutes.  The closing date for responses is 26th February 2017.  To ensure the views of all parents are taken into account in planning for the future of education, it is important you respond.

How can you participate in the survey?

The letter distributed to parents of children under two living in the Vale of Glamorgan will provide information on how to respond, as well as a response form and a freepost enevelope to return the completed form. Alternatively, you can complete the online response form
