Tunstall Smoke DetectorThe smoke detector is for anyone who is at risk in their home and requiring extra peace of mind.
On detection of smoke the Smoke detector will raise two alarms. Firstly a local audible alarm and secondly a signal will be sent to the Lifeline unit. This in turn will immediately raise a call to the 24-hour monitoring centre and the operator will alert the emergency services. As the process is automatic and immediate, the risks to life and
property damage are greatly reduced.
The supplied battery has a life expectancy of 5 years. As with other equipment, the smoke detector has an automatic low battery reporting mechanism. Meaning a Telecare Support Officer will come out to change any batteries once a low battery signal is sent as part of our ongoing service.
Fires poses one of the most serious threats to people at home and its effects are devastating. Every year fires in the home cause hundreds of deaths and damage thousands of homes. Homes equipped with smoke detectors continue to discover fires more rapidly than those without, and are associated with lower casualty rates and less damage.
Installing wireless smoke detectors as part of the TeleV home safety service further reduces the risks associated with fire due to the alerting of someone outside the home situation who will be able to take immediate action, when the person in the home may not react quickly enough (particularly at night time, when the person may be more slow, confused or not hear the alarm).
