Family Information Service (FIS)
What do we do?
You can view our FIS video clip to find out about what we do and what we offer parents and providers.
We are a one stop shop for families living in the Vale and people working with families. We provide information about:
parent and toddler groups
nanny, baby sitting and au pair agencies
help with childcare costs and other benefits for parents
how to become a childcare provider
activities during school holidays
family support services
other services and activities for children and young people age 0-19 years
We aim to help parents and carers, prospective parents, employers, childcare providers and other people who work with children and young people in the Vale. For more information you can download our Family Information Service Leaflet
Childcare, Play & Leisure Search
Our Childcare, Play & Leisure Search above takes you to our on-line childcare database, where you can search for childcare and activities in your area. For more information and to register your service with us, visit the parents' zone.
If your child carer is looking after a child under the age of 8 for more than 2 hours a day, they must be registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW). For more information visit the parents' zone.
We hope that you find the childcare database useful. Please spare a moment to tell us what you think using the feedback online database.
If you are unable to find what you are looking for on our childcare database
please complete our online enquiry form.
Family Support Search
Our Family Support Search takes you to our directory of local family support services in the Vale of Glamorgan. This is invaluable to families who have children age 0-19 years and people working with families.
Training for Childcare Providers
Visit our Providers' Zone for training courses, events and how you can keep your details up to date with FIS.
