Administered by the Family Information Service and funded by Families First Welsh Government funding.

 

The Index for Children and Young People with Disabilities or Additional Needs provides up to date information about services, events and activities for you and your child.

Support within Education

The Inclusion Service offers advice and support to schools, pupils and families when there is an additional learning need. 

 

The service is committed to ensuring that children’s needs are identified and that all children and young people are fully included in their local mainstream school if possible. 

 

The Inclusion Service is available to children and young people age 0-19 on a referral basis.

Sports and Play Opportunities

Cardboard Boxes

The Sports and Play Development Team create opportunities and initiatives all year round for people of all ages and abilities to take part in activities. 

 

There is a Disability Sports Directory for the Vale of Glamorgan providing information on all of the sports clubs which are accessible for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.

If you are providing unpaid care for a child with additional needs, you are entitled to an assessment of your own needs for help and support.

 

 

Child Health and Disability Team

The Child Health and Disability Team provide a variety of support to disabled children. 

Their services is aimed at children who are aged between 0 and 18 years and who have a learning difficulty or a significant physical or sensory impairment:
