SENIOR MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENT COMMITTEE

 

Minutes of a meeting held on 21st August, 2015.

 

Present:  Councillor N. Moore (Chairman); Councillors L. Burnett, C.P. Franks, R.A. Penrose and J.W. Thomas.

 

Also present: Councillor G. John (relevant Cabinet Portfolio Member in respect of the Appointment to the Head of Visible Services and Transport post).

 

 

311     APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE –  

 

These were received from Councillors S.C. Egan (Vice-Chairman) and C.P. Franks (in respect of the appointment to the Head of Business Management and Innovation).

 

 

312     DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST –

 

No declarations were received.

 

 

313     EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC –

 

RESOLVED – T H A T under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 4 of Schedule 12A (as amended) of the Act, the relevant paragraphs of the Schedule being referred to in brackets after the minute heading.

 

 

314     RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT (SIX MONTHS) FOR THE HEAD OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION (DSS) (EXEMPT INFORMATION – PARAGRAPHS 12, 13 AND 15) –

 

The Committee received a presentation and interviewed one candidate. 

 

Having given due consideration it was

 

RESOLVED – T H A T S.C. be appointed on the basis of an initial six month temporary appointment to the post of Head of Business Management and Innovation, with the appointment being made at the first salary point of the Head of Service salary scale range, with effect from 1st September, 2015.

 

Reason for decision

 

To appoint the internal candidate under the terms of an initial six month temporary secondment to the above post.

 

 

315     RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE HEAD OF VISIBLE SERVICES AND TRANSPORT (MD) (EXEMPT INFORMATION – PARAGRAPHS 12, 13 AND 15) –

 

The Committee received a presentation from and interviewed four candidates.

 

Having given due consideration it was

 

RESOLVED – T H A T E.R. be appointed to the post of Head of Visible Services and Transport, with the appointment being made at the first salary point of the Head of Service salary range, with effect from 1st September, 2015.

 

Reason for decision

 

To appoint a candidate to the above post.

 

 

316     RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE HEAD OF REGENERATION AND PLANNING (MD) (EXEMPT INFORMATION – PARAGRAPHS 12, 13 AND 15) –

 

The Committee received a presentation from and interviewed two candidates.

 

Having given due consideration, it was

 

RESOLVED – T H A T M.G. be appointed to the post of Head of Regeneration and Planning, with the appointment being made at the first salary point of the Head of Service salary scale range, with effect from 1st September, 2015.

 

Reason for decision

 

To appoint a candidate to the above post.
