C1225 Employee Pay Policy 2013/2014 (L) (SCRUTINY COMMITTEE – CORPORATE RESOURCES) –
Approval was sought to endorse the Council's Pay Policy for 2013/14 as required by the Localism Act 2011.
The Pay Policy had been produced in accordance with requirements of section 38 (1) of the Localism Act 2011. The Act required all local authorities to develop and make public their policy on all aspects of Chief Officer remuneration.
The Policy provided a framework for ensuring that employees were rewarded fairly and objectively, in accordance with the service needs of the Council and that there was openness and transparency in relation to the process.
The Policy reflected the provisions of the Green Book/Single Status pay structure as implemented on 1st March 2012 and the pay changes that resulted from the Senior Management Reduction exercise as implemented in 2012.
The report outlined that the Pay Policy needed to be approved and re-published by the 31st March 2013 in order to comply with the provisions of the Localism Act.
This was a matter for Council.
RESOLVED - T H A T the Pay Policy as attached at "Appendix A” to the report be endorsed and referred for approval by Council at its meeting on the 6th March 2013.
