Minutes of a meeting held on 30th June, 2011.

 

Present: Councillor J.C. Bird (Chairman); Councillor H.J.W. James (Vice-Chairman); Ms. J. Poole (The Georgian Group); Councillor L.M. Payne (Barry Town Council); Councillor R. Magee (St. Nicholas Community Council); P. Jones (Cowbridge Charter Trust); Councillor Mrs. M. Kelly Owen (Penarth Town Council).

(a)       Minutes -

 

AGREED - T H AT the minutes of the meeting held on 17th February, 2011 be agreed as a correct record.

 

 

(b)       Feedback -

 

AGREED - T H A T the following feedback on applications previously considered by the Group be noted:

 

2010/01148/FUL

Greenfields, Castle Hill, Llanblethian, Cowbridge - Alterations, restoration and extension to existing 5 no. bedroom dwelling to form 4 no. bedroom family home.  To include demolition of later extensions to original house.  New landscaping works, parking and vehicular access and flood prevention measures.

 

This application was approved.

2010/01298/FUL

Penarth Pier Pavilion, Penarth - Alterations and extensions to pavilion to include new second floor observatory extension and new roofs, with access improvements included along with other associated works.  These alterations are in association with change of use of the pavilion to mixed use, to include restaurant, shop, conference suite and auditorium / cinema.

 

This application was approved.

RECOMMENDED - APPROVAL, although reservations were expressed about some elements of the design and proposed materials.  The Group also expressed the wish that the blank elevations be made more interesting.
