Barry Island Traffic Management

In order to ensure as smooth a trip as possible, visitors should be aware of certain traffic arrangements that will be in place over the Bank Holiday at Barry Island.

 

Those approaching from the west should take the traditional route over the causeway to Nell’s Point car park. Motorists coming from the east are advised to travel on the new link road, avoiding the Cosy Corner junction, to Harbour Road car park. There will be signs to guide them along the way.

Did you know you can set up an account with 'Phone and Pay' and pay for parking at a number of carparks across the Vale of Glamorgan. Once you are registered you simply need to quote the location number of the car park (Located on the side of ticket machines)everytime you park. Download User Guide.

Easter Activities Programme 2017

Activities for children, young people and families in the Vale of Glamorgan 

The Vale Family Information Service has compiled a programme of all activities for children and families during the Easter holidays. It contains information on activities provided by the Vale of Glamorgan Council, charities in the Vale and private organisations.

Amelia Trust Farm

Lots and lots of fun during the Easter break. Sessions run from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Activities will include lamb feeding, petting sessions, tractor rides, easter egg eggstravaganza hunt, pottery sessions.

Easter Egg Hunt

Friday 14 - Sunday 16 April, anytime between 10.00am - 3.30pm

Cosmeston Lakes Country Park 

Come along to Cosmeston Lakes and have a go at our Easter egg trail. Over 650 families took part last year so we will have to make sure we have plenty of goodies for all you egg hunters.

Collect your map from reception, find the Easter egg posts and answer the 10 questions. 

Once you have completed the Easter egg trail return to check your answers and claim your bag of goodies. Please note: This is a self-led activity; children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Cost £3.00 per person

Slade Garden - National Gardens Scheme

Slade Farm, Southerndown

Saturday 15 - Sunday 16 April, 2:00pm - 5:30pm

Set in 8 acres, Slade Garden is an unexpected treasure with extensive views over the Bristol Channel. There will be home-made teas and cakes for sale, plus plants. Heritage Coast wardens will give guided tours of adjacent Dunraven Gardens with slide shows every hour from 2.00pm.

 

Admission: £4.00, children free.

Beauty and the Beast (PG)
