Visitors were also able to try out a variety of play activities delivered by the Council’s Play Development team. Activities included arts and crafts, giant games, and a drumming workshop.
Once they had tried at least 5 activities, participants were awarded a medal of participation, a certificate and prize. They were also provided with an information booklet of local community sports opportunities to encourage them to participate in activities on a regular basis.
Cllr Gwyn John, Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said that there was very positive feedback received, with many children trying out new activities for the first time, and a number of them saying that they would be joining a local club as they enjoyed the activities so much.
