Published 28 August 2014

A draft Local Housing Strategy has been prepared by the Vale of Glamorgan Council which sets out the vision for housing during the next five years.

The draft strategy aims to make sure that all residents in the Vale of Glamorgan have access to good quality, suitable housing and are able to live happily and independently in vibrant, sustainable communities.

It also sets out four key goals; to provide more homes and more choice, to improve homes and communities, to provide better advice and support, and to promote equality of access to services.

The Council is keen to obtain the views of residents and stakeholders, and have opened a public consultation, which will take place from 1 to 28 September.

The questionnaire, as well as a copy of the draft strategy, is available online at Hard copies are available to view in all Vale libraries, and at both the Civic Office and Docks Office.

Drop in Sessions will be available for residents to discuss the strategy and give any feedback. The Civic Office, Barry will be open on 11 September from 1-6pm, and on 15 September from 8am-1pm. Sessions will also be held at Penarth Library on 17 September from 9.30am-12:30pm, and at Cowbridge Library on 19 September from 09:30am-12:30pm.
