Pupils, Governors, Parents and Staff at Llanfair Primary School received an early Christmas present at their Christmas Fair to hear the news that their school will be receiving £500,000 investment to improve its buildings.

Cllr Chris Elmore, cabinet member for children’s services, visited the school to unveil the plans for the improvements and was given a festive welcome by all.

Following the presentation of the plans Cllr Elmore said: “Thanks to this investment Llanfair Primary School will now have buildings of the highest standard. The Vale of Glamorgan Council has increased spending over the last two and half years on school buildings and is committed to improving the learning environments in which our children & staff learn and work. I am delighted to be able to present plans for another upgrade for a Vale school.”

The funding will be used to create a new combined foundation phase unit, replacing demountable buildings as well as to provide a new roof for the main building. Work is due to start in January 2015 & should be completed by the end of March 2015.
