Last Chance for Vale Library Services Consultation

18 December 2014

The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s public consultation on the implementation of a new library strategy closes on 31 December 2014.

Residents across the Vale are being encouraged to put forward their views on the future of library services before the consultation closes.

A review undertaken last year identified a number of steps required to make the Vale’s libraries financially viable. The three most significant proposed changes were then put to library users and Vale residents for consultation.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council, like all councils in the UK, is facing significant financial pressure due to cuts in public sector funding. Around £32 million needs to be saved over the next three years.

You can have your say on the proposals for community libraries, changes to opening hours, and the relocation of St Athan library online at or by calling 01446 700111 before the end of December.
