Llandough Primary Good in Every Area
04 December 2014
Llandough Primary School has received a rating of ‘good’, the second highest rating possible, in every area of its recent Estyn inspection.
Both the school’s current performance and prospects for improvement were praised as ‘good’ by the inspection team, and the report also commended the school’s “happy, inclusive community” and the “high level of care, support and guidance” provided by staff.
Cllr Chris Elmore, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “I’d like to congratulate the school on a very impressive report. To achieve such a consistently high standard across every area of the school is a fantastic achievement and shows the dedication of governors, the head teacher, staff and of course pupils. Well done to all involved.”
The report also said “the Head Teacher and senior management team provide clear strategic direction in leading and managing the school” and that “all members of staff are clear about their roles, work effectively as a team and are fully involved in school improvement activities.”
Head Teacher Mrs. Susan Evans said: “This report is a celebration of the hard work and effort by all those involved in Llandough Primary. The inspection team recognised our many strengths and I am exceptionally proud to be the head teacher of such a successful school.”
Mr. John MacFarlane, Chair of the Governing Body said: “The governing body and I are delighted with the outcome of our recent inspection as it confirms and reflects the high standards that the school consistently attains.”
