Vale wins two Fields in Trust awards

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has won two awards at the Fields in Trust awards 2014.


The event saw the Council pick up both the Local Authority Partner of the Year award for Wales and a Centenary Fields Trailblazers award.


The trailblazer award was given to Alexandra Park, which was given official Centenary Field status by Fields in Trust and the Royal British Legion in July of this year.


Fields in Trust Trailblazers award 2014Llantwit Major Town Council was also the only Welsh finalist for the Partner of the Year award in the Town and Parish Council category.


Cllr Gwyn John, Cabinet Member and Armed Forces Champion for the Vale, said: “I’m incredibly proud of these awards. A lot of effort has gone in to the parks and fields across the Vale, particularly our trailblazing Alexandra Park, and I think everyone involved deserves huge congratulations.”


The Fields in Trust awards seek to recognise and reward some of the many organisations who contribute most to the success of the Trust’s work.
