Householders told to expect a knock on the door from electoral canvassers
Published Monday 10 January 2014
Householders in the Vale of Glamorgan are being visited by house-to-house canvassers working to update the electoral register.
The canvassers, working on behalf of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, will be visiting all properties that have not returned an electoral registration form. All canvassers will carry an authorisation letter to confirm they are employed by the council.
Canvassers will only ask for the names of people, over the age of 16, who are permanently resident at properties that have not returned the registration form.
If residents are 16 or 17 years-of-age they might be asked for their date of birth. They will not be asked for further personal information.
The canvass will finish on Sunday 23 February 2014.
If you have concerns about a canvasser please call the council’s contact centre on 01446 700111.
