Big Fill is Back

Part two of the Big Fill campaign got underway again this weekend as contractors visited the Dyfan ward.

The Council’s Highways and Maintenance team, alongside contractors, will be fixing potholes in the Illtyd ward on 9 and 10 August and in the Cadoc ward on 23 and 24 August.

Residents are being encouraged to report any potholes in their ward by calling 01446 700111, emailing or using the interactive map on the Vale Council website.

Potholes will need to be reported on the Monday to Friday prior to the weekend the team will be in that ward. The Big Fill schedules can be found in the local press, on Twitter and Facebook, and on the Vale website.

Big-Fill-LaunchResidents who are unsure of which ward they live in can call the contact centre on 01446 700111.

Cllr Rob Curtis said: “I’m really pleased to be able to launch part two of the Big Fill campaign. We’ve worked hard to tackle potholes across the Vale, and the Big Fill will go a long way to improve conditions of Vale roads.”

On an average weekend approximately 150 potholes are repaired in each ward. The original BIG Fill campaign saw crews fill over 3400 extra potholes using 320 tonnes of tarmac across all 23 Vale of Glamorgan wards.
