Rural housing team tours the ValeThe Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Housing Advice Team has been touring the rural areas of the Vale offering helpful housing advice to residents.

The team visited Dinas Powys, Llantwit Major, St. Bride’s Major, and Cowbridge, answering questions about homelessness, letting policies, and home ownership schemes.

Their aim was to provide a mobile housing advice service to the rural areas of the Vale, allowing residents the benefits of a face to face service without having to travel to Barry.

Plenty of residents turned up to quiz the team on housing issues, and there was lots of positive feedback, especially from disabled residents who appreciated being able to park wherever the team set up, rather than having to negotiate an awkward building entrance.

The team also met a number of community councillors who were keen to talk to the team on behalf of their residents.

The encouraging turnout and positive response has meant that the team have already started to plan more events for the future.
