Barry Communities First take on Llamau in charity football match

The Vale Council-led Barry Communities First have sponsored Llamau’s football team in Barry to help vulnerable young people from the local area to take part in football.

As part of this sponsorship, Barry Communities First has provided members of Llamau’s football team with a brand new kit.

To celebrate this, there will be a Communities First and partners versus Llamau football match taking place on Thursday 3 July, 4pm at Colcot Sports Centre, Barry.

Llamau’s Chief Executive, Frances Beecher, said: “Llamau has an excellent relationship with Communities First and the people and communities of Barry, and this is another example of the great work that we do together. Obviously I am a little biased and will be shouting for Llamau to win, but good luck to everyone.

“Llamau is the leading homelessness charity for the most vulnerable young people and women in Wales. Our mission is to enable homeless young people and vulnerable women to achieve their potential.”

The public are invited to come along to support the teams in what will be a thrilling encounter.

Other partners involved in this game include Newydd Housing Association, the Vale Council, Phillipa Freeth, and South Wales Police.
