Dog abandoned on Llantwit Major beach recovering

20 June 2014

A dog that was found abandoned on Llantwit Major beach on 13 June is being nursed back to health at Croft Kennels in Bridgend.

The dog was left tied to a post in the sun with no water or shade, and with a sign tied around his neck saying that he had been abandoned.

He was found by caring resident Glenda Jenkins who, after untying him and helping him into her car, took him to the animal health centre in Boverton.

The dog was found to have developed a skin condition due to being exposed to the sun for too long, but after a few days’ treatment he is said to be markedly better.

The Vale Council’s Animal Welfare team are currently investigating the incident and have traced the owner of the dog from information provided by members of the public.
