Victoria and Cogan Primary Schools through to Netball regional final

The Penarth Netball League, which is organised by the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Dragon Sport Team who work in partnership with Welsh Netball, provides fun and enjoyable Netball opportunities in a non-competitive environment to help the Year 5&6 pupils develop their skills.

However, the final few weeks takes a more competitive turn with schools competing against each other to gain entry into the area finals competition run by Welsh Netball.

The first round of playoff matches were decided last week by goal difference with Cogan progressing because of a superior goal difference over Evenlode, having battled through highly competitive matches between the two schools and Ysgol Pen-Y-Garth.

The second round of playoff matches was between St Andrew’s Major, Albert and Victoria Primary Schools. It all came down to the last match between St Andrew’s and Victoria, with the latter coming out victorious with a 5-2 victory.

The two winning schools, Victoria Primary and Cogan Primary will now represent the Vale of Glamorgan in the regional final competition on 8 April 2014 at Cardiff University’s Talybont Sports Campus.
