A Merrie Weekend at Cosmeston Medieval Village
Published 03 June 2014
Cosmeston Medieval Village was sent travelling back in time 600 years over the bank holiday weekend for its fantastic Troubled Times event.
Despite the poor weather on the Sunday, the weekend was a big success with Monday seeing over 500 visitors turn up to experience the sights, sounds and smells of medieval Wales.
Guests were treated to a travelling fayre carrying unusual goods for sale, a falconer displaying his beautiful hawks and falcons, and an armoured foot tournament which saw the strongest men at arms battling for the title of champion.
During the event, medieval minstrels A Merrie Noyse provided some music and dancing lords and ladies gathered to teach guests some traditional dances.
Cllr Gwyn John said: “I am delighted that so many people who visited Cosmeston enjoyed their day at the Medieval Village and I look forward to them attending further events in the future.”
