Bro Radio logoBro Radio, the local community radio station for the Vale of Glamorgan is opening its doors to creative, enthusiastic and community focused individuals wishing to delve into the world of radio and help develop their local station.
The station, which is run by two paid members of staff and 45 volunteers, has recently received funding from the ‘Big Lottery: Awards for All’ fund to allow it to expand its existing facilities for an initial 12 month period within Barry YMCA. This allows the station to offer training sessions which, until previously, have not been on offer due to lack of facilities.
The station will open its doors to interested participants on Tuesday 11th November at 6pm, where members of the public who are interested will be able to meet the team, see the facilities and discuss ideas with the team. From that evening, Bro Radio will assess applicants training needs and deliver training appropriately to help those individuals drive their ideas and the station forward.
Station manager Gareth Sweeney said: “It’s great for us to be able to open up our doors once again to the community which we serve. Over the past five years, we’ve built up a great team who have a wide range of knowledge and experiences that we cannot wait to share with new trainees at the station.”
Anyone interested in attending should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01446 420 681 to confirm their attendance. Due to the high number of applicants expected, this session will be on a first come, first serve basis, with a future session planned if interest is high.
