Former St Cyres school site for sale
Published 24 October 2014
Marketing Agents Rawlins and Madley have commenced the marketing of the former St Cyres Lower School site for a mixed use development.
Located to the west of Cardiff city centre, the site is in a highly sustainable location, offering the potential for a mix of new housing and community and recreational facilities within a sought after area of Dinas Powys.
The Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Cllr Neil Moore, said: “I am delighted this important site is now on the market, and very much hope we secure a developer with the vision and ambition to deliver an attractive new development carefully integrated with the existing local community.
“Originally this site was earmarked only for housing, but aware of local concerns we carried out community consultation, and after listening to local opinion the site is now being marketed as a mixed use development, including the opportunity for community and recreational uses as well as still providing much needed housing for the area.”
Some of the most popular suggested uses for the site to come out of the consultation held in 2012 were sporting facilities, housing, and allotments.
Paul Madley FRICS, Partner of Cardiff based chartered surveyors Rawlins and Madley, stated: “This is an outstanding development site in the sought after Vale of Glamorgan. It is a wonderful opportunity to create a master planned high quality residential and community use development within close proximity of Cardiff. I am very optimistic we will receive a great deal of interest from developers as it is very rare for a development opportunity such as this to come to the market.”
