Wombles head to Barry Island to help Keep Britain Tidy

Keep Britain Tidy Launched their Diamond Jubilee Big Tidy Up in September at Wimbledon Common with the help of the Wombles.
And on Monday 13 October volunteers swept across Barry Island.
Volunteers included Customers of Scope’s Sully Day Opportunities, Cllr Rob Curtis, Mark Robertson from the Vale’s YOS team and the Year 10 pupils from Stanwell School, who braved the windy weather to help clean up the Island, along with the help of Great Uncle Bulgaria.
Cllr Curtis said: “It was fantastic to see the volunteers from Scope turn up to help, as well as the pupils from Stanwell, and our YOS team. It’s good to see that there are plenty of people concerned about their environment, and willing to help. It’s a small gesture, but it can make such a huge difference to how appealing an area looks.”
