Cemetery Approach Open Space Clearing Begins
Published 19 September 2014
Work is set to begin to develop the public open space at Cemetery Approach as a community garden.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Parks and Grounds Maintenance Division are undertaking initial clearing and maintenance works at both Cemetery Road sites.
These works are being done to assist the ecological management of the site, and will be completed before the end of October 2014.
It is proposed to dedicate the development as a Centenary Field; a scheme run between Fields in Trust and the Royal British Legion. The scheme aims to encourage local authorities to nominate at least one recreational space to be dedicated in commemoration of the millions of people who lost their lives in WW1.
The full scheme for the development of the site into public open space will be subject to a planning application to be submitted within the next few weeks.
