Flyers Distributed Around the Vale
Published 10 October 2014
The Vale of Glamorgan Council has been made aware of flyers regarding the proposal for a permanent Gyspy and Traveller site on Hayes Road again being anonymously distributed in the Barry, Sully, and Dinas Powys areas.
The Council has a duty to prepare a Local Development Plan (LDP) and, as part of this process, is required to assess all accommodation needs including those of specific groups such as Gypsies and Travellers. The Council’s Deposit LDP contains a proposal for a Gypsy and Traveller site at Hayes Road in Sully to accommodate 18 pitches.
Consultation on the Deposit LDP was undertaken between 8 November and 20 December 2013. In addition, a number of site allocation representations were received during the Deposit LDP consultation that suggested a number of alternative sites, and a further public consultation was held on these from 20 March to 1 May 2014.
As the formal public consultation periods have now ended, further representations can no longer be formally registered. Any further representations received will be considered as being not duly made.
All representations received on the Deposit LDP and the suggested Alternative Sites can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/ldp or at deposit locations. The Council is currently considering in detail all representations received and will prepare responses to these which will be included in the LDP Consultation Report, due to be published in April 2015.
