Penarth Learning Community has won two regional Building Control Awards at the Local Authority Building Control awards.
The project was named ‘best educational building’ and ‘most accessible building’ at the regional awards held at The Vale Resort, Hensol.
And it has also been shortlisted in four categories at the Constructing Excellence in Wales awards, including the Value Award, the Innovation Award, and Project of the Year.
It has also been shortlisted for the Integration and Collaborative Working Award alongside Ysgol Gymraeg Nant Talwg in Barry, with interviews due to take place this week.
Director of Learning and Skills, Jennifer Hill, said: “Our ambition is that educational outcomes in the Vale are the best in Wales and match those of the most successful authorities in England. So it is great news that the excellence of the facilities provided by the Council to our students and staff has been recognised by these awards as being of the highest quality.”
The Penarth Learning Community project will now be taken forward to the next stage of the Building Control Awards.
