Flying Start Parents Get Cooking
Published 04 August 2015
The Flying Start Family Centre recently held an event to present certificates to parents who attended the Get Cooking Programme.
The event was held to celebrate the achievements of the adult learners who have successfully completed an accredited course in healthy eating, run in partnership between Flying Start and the Vale of Glamorgan Adult and Community Learning Service.
During the course the learners tried out some healthy recipes, learned to understand food labelling, and looked at ways to make their family meals more nutritious.
Learners were presented with their certificates by Flying Start Manager Amber Constant and Principal Adult and Community Learning Officer Phil Southard, who praised the learners for all their hard work and commitment.
Flying Start parents in Barry have the opportunity to attend a wide range of activities and courses from September.
There will be new courses on offer for coping with stress in families, confidence building, jewellery and craft workshops and healthy eating.
For information on any of the courses, contact Flying Start on 01446 725106 or the Palmerston Adult Learning Centre on 01446 733762.
