Penarth Head set for Viewing Platform Improvements
Published 05 January 2015
The viewing platform at Penarth Head Park is set to be improved as part of the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Parks Refurbishment scheme.
The scheme will see the area completely refurbished with a ramp installed for wheelchair and pushchair access, as well as interpretation panels noting points of interest across the channel.
Local artist Maureen O’Kane, who created the Compass Rose installation in Penarth in 2009, has also been commissioned to design a central mosaic seat, which will be built in the shape of the Wales Coastal Path logo.
The scheme will also see refurbishments to the boundary railings and gates, as well as improvements to the park entrance leading southwards to Clive Crescent.
