St. Andrew’s Primary School Update
Published 07 January 2015
The situation is improving at St. Andrew’s Major Primary School, with full nursery provision and breakfast and after school clubs back in action.
As their usual classroom has been made warm enough, nursery pupils will be able to attend school as normal from Thursday 8 January.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils will remain in the three heated classrooms at the school, while Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 are again asked to arrive at school by 8.50am, where they will be transported together to Hebron Hall Christian Centre.
Hot lunches will be available for pupils on school premises, while juniors at Hebron Hall are asked to bring packed lunches, although grab bags will again be available.
Breakfast club and after school club will take place in the hall as usual. Extra-curricular clubs will remain closed.
Head Teacher, Mrs. G. Hallett said: “I would like to thank you for your patience over the last few days. Although we do not yet have a functioning boiler, we have managed to retain some sense of normality for almost all of the children.
“If you have any concerns or queries, please phone the school and speak to myself or Mrs Green. Although I am unable to confirm how long these arrangements will need to be in place, I hope you will agree that the provision offered should now ensure minimal disruption for families and working parents. I can also confirm that the children’s education is being maintained to the best of our abilities and the staff are working extremely hard to ensure this is the case.”
