The Vale of Glamorgan Council Audit of Accounts 2014/15

Notice is hereby given that:
1. From Wednesday 29th July 2015 to Tuesday 25th August 2015 both dates inclusive, between the hours 9.00a.m and 4.30p.m on Mondays to Thursdays and between 9.00a.m and 4.00p.m on Fridays, any persons interested may, on application to the Resources Directorate at the Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry, inspect and make copies of the accounts of the above Council for the year ended 31st March 2015 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto.
2. On the 26th August 2015 between 9.00am and 4.30pm and thereafter until the conclusion of the audit, a representative of the Auditor (Grant Thornton UK LLP) on behalf of Mr Huw Vaughan Thomas, Auditor General for Wales, (Wales Audit Office, 24 Cathedral Road, Cardiff CF11 9LJ), at the request of any Local Government elector for the area to which the accounts relate will give the elector or his representative an opportunity to question him about the accounts and any such elector or his representative may attend before the Auditor and make objections to any of the accounts:
(i) as to any matter in respect of which the auditor could take action under section 32 of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004 (namely, an unlawful item of account);
(ii) as to any other matter in respect of which the auditor could make a report in the public interest under section 22 of the Act.3.
No such objection may be made unless the Appointed Auditor has previously received written notice of the objection and the grounds on which it is to be made and a copy of such notice is to be sent to the Managing Director, The Vale of Glamorgan County Borough Council, at the Civic Offices, Barry, whose accounts are the subject of the audit.
