The Vale 50 plus Strategy Forum, along with a number of other older peoples groups in the Vale, have been working on an exciting intergenerational anti-graffiti art project.

The Holton Road Community Mural Project is led by PCSO Rhiannon Harris from the Vale Community Safety Partnership, who collected old photographs of the Vale from local residents.

These, along with pictures of the Vale made by pupils from Holton Road and Gladstone primary schools, have been converted into 62 large paintings, which will be exhibited on the wall behind the Iceland store on Holton Road, with the aim of reducing graffiti and anti-social behaviour in the area.

There is still one session of the project left, which will be held at Castleland Community Centre on Wednesday 12 August from 11am to 4pm. All are welcome to join with no artistic experience necessary as there will be an artist on hand to guide people through the activity. Light refreshments will also be provided.

For more information on the anti-graffiti project, please contact Rhiannon Harris on 01446 450200.
