Art Central Hosts ‘Drawing the Line’ exhibition
Published 09 June 2015
Throughout the month of June the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s prestigious gallery, Art Central, will be hosting the 2015 end of year show by Cardiff and Vale College, Art and Design students entitled ‘Drawing the Line’.
As part of the Gallery’s full and diverse exhibition programme it provides the students with an opportunity to showcase their work in a professional setting.
The exhibition includes imaginative and innovative creations from both the one and two year courses; these include WJEC Foundation Diploma, BTEC First and National Diplomas, and Foundation Degree courses. Combining the outcomes of these different courses has resulted in an amalgamation of sculpture, painting, ceramics, fashion, photography, graphics and installation.
Their tutor, Adrian Paul Metcalfe has said: “The students at Barry Campus have again produced a fantastic collection of stunning, innovative and creative work across the spectrum of art and design. This show evidences the challenging and exciting developments they have made over their course of study, and is a tribute to their energy and enthusiasm.”
The official opening will be taking place between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 11 June with all welcome to attend. This event will give students the chance to celebrate their achievements and take pride in seeing the results of their hard work displayed in a professional Gallery.
The exhibition will be open until Saturday 20 June. Entrance to the Gallery is free and open to the public from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
