Free carers’ events in June
Published 01 June 2015
As part of Carers’ Week 2015, a range of free events for carers in Cardiff and the Vale are being held in June at Cardiff City Stadium in Leckwith.
On offer on Tuesday 9 June is an event to help carers with staying safe, looking at a range of ideas including home aids and adaptations, useful Technology such as personal alarms and sensors, and staying safe online.
Then on Thursday 11 June the event looks at staying well, and will involve information on healthy eating, keeping active, leisure activities and support groups, advice on benefits and allowances, and more.
Both events take place from 10am to 3pm and will also include more general advice and information for carers. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be expert advice sessions held, as well as the chance to take part in demonstrations and activities, and meet a host of other carers in the area.
Staff will also be hosting a carers’ advice shop on Tuesday 9 June from 4pm to 6pm to give carers a chance to talk with carers support staff from health and social care who can provide information and advice, and signpost relevant sources of help.
