Half term sees country parks full of life

The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s countryside service held a range of activity sessions for children during the half term break.
A scavenger hunt at Porthkerry Country Park saw children running wild solving a sheet of riddles and hunting 10 special items, before returning with the answers to collect their prizes , and rangers at Cosmeston Lakes held a pond dip and bug hunt where catching, getting up close and holding bugs was the order of the day.
And along the Heritage Coast a treasure map activity to find the X on the map and claim a prize was a big hit with families. All the activities were fully booked and turned out to be a great success.
Aaron Jones from the Countryside Service said: “It was great to see the children getting involved in nature activities and enjoying themselves.”
Further activities are planned across all three sites again during the summer holidays. Details will be available from the Council website in due course.
