Romilly Primary School in Barry celebrated the start of major expansion works with a turf-cutting ceremony this week.
After visiting Oak Field Primary School last week to mark the beginning of work on the school’s new building, Cllr Chris Elmore, cabinet member for schools, visited Romilly Primary to see the installation of a new nursery building and play areas.
Cllr Elmore said: “I feel very proud to be able to announce the start of these projects. We’re providing children in the Vale with the best facilities on offer, which will not only improve the standard of education they receive, but will also have huge impact on their prospects for the future.”
The school has been provided with a new nursery classroom, which should be open to pupils before the end of the school year, as well as new play areas.
The project has been fully funded by the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
