Vale Council Building Control team raise £1000 for Holme Towers

Building control present cheque to Marie CuriePublished 4 March 2015

The Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Building Control team raised £1000 for the Marie Curie Centre at Holme Towers, Penarth.

The money was raised in aid of a local paramedic Adrian Cook, 44 years of age, who sadly passed away in February.

The team, along with staff from the Council’s Planning Department and Nina Estate Agents, collected donations at the annual Building Excellence Awards at the Vale Golf Club on 30 January.

Around £900 was raised on the night between the 90 guests, with the remaining £100 donated by Nina herself.

And last week the team visited the centre at Holme Towers to present them with a cheque for £1000.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Neil Moore, said: “I am very proud of the staff, and pleased they have given their time and effort to a very worthy cause.
