A4232 closure update
06 May 2015
Severe traffic delays on routes into Cardiff and to the M4
This morning (06 May) a lorry carrying 26 tons of caustic was in collision with 3 other vehicles on the A4232, the Cardiff Bay to M4 link road.
The South Wales Trunk Road Agency, South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service remain at scene and Natural Resources Wales have been alerted to the spillage.
The road will remain closed late afternoon to allow South Wales Trunk Road Agency to carry out barrier repairs therefore congestion is expected to remain on A48 inbound up to J29, Coryton, Manor Way, Culverhouse Cross, A48 (Tumble) and Cowbridge Road West which are the main diversion routes.
Severe delays are also being experienced on routes linking to the A48 and the A4050 (Port Road). Motorists are advised to allow considerable extra time for journeys on these roads.
