Ysgol Iolo Morgannwg tennis day May 2015The back to back coaching sessions lasted all day so that each class, from reception to year 6, had a chance to try out their tennis skills. Concentrating on their racket control and ball skills, the younger year groups played tennis related games whilst the older classes rallied over the net.

Gareth East commented: “It’s great to be able to introduce tennis to the children at such a young age. Its a fantastic sport and we’ve had a lot of fun today with the children of Ysgol Iolo.”

Lisa-Marie Morris added: “Tennis is a lifelong sport that can be played at any level with friends, family or competitively, so it’s never too late to pick up a racket and give it a go. There are many opportunities to play in the Vale and Vale Tennis Academy are here to help you at every step.”

Mr Alun Roberts, P.E. Coordinator at Ysgol Iolo summed up the day saying: “We pride ourselves in involving the children in a wide range of sports. The children have had great fun today and all our tennis skills have improved thanks to Gareth and Lisa. It has been a special opportunity to have all the coaching delivered in the Welsh language - diolch yn fawr!”
