Free exercise at Vale leisure centres for National Fitness Day
Published 02 September 2015
On Wednesday 9 September, Barry, Penarth, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major and Holm View leisure centres are providing free exercise activities as part of National Fitness Day, helping make it the most active day of the year in the UK.
People across the country will be given access to gyms, health clubs, leisure centres and park sessions throughout the UK as part of National Fitness Day, the country’s largest celebration of physical activity.
At Legacy Leisure Centres in the Vale of Glamorgan, members of the public will be able to exercise in the gym for free with staff on hand throughout the day to make everyone familiar with how to use the equipment.
And at Barry, Penarth and Llantwit Major leisure centres, under 16’s can swim for free during public swimming sessions. Those aged 8 or under will need to be accompanied by someone over the age of 16.
With thousands of free events on offer, the aim is to inspire people to get moving while making it easy and fun to try something new with free taster sessions. National Fitness Day 2015 will build upon the success of last year, where nearly 2,000 venues opened their doors to run free exercise sessions, with the campaign reaching 27 million people across the country.
To take part, simply visit any participating centre on Wednesday 9 September. For more information, contact the centre in advance by calling 01446 403000 or find your nearest leisure centre online.
