Keeping the Coast Clean
25 April 2016
The fourth annual Keep Wales Tidy’s Clean Coast Week takes place from 23 April to 1 May 2016.
To launch a week of 14 beach cleans in the Vale of Glamorgan, a beach clean-up took place at Swanbridge Bay; with Keep Wales Tidy, a brilliant team of young learners from People Business Wales and the Vale’s Visible Services Task Group.
The team were able to collect 13 bags of rubbish and 1 tyre.
Vic Weaving from People Business Wales: “The team here today are working towards a qualification that covers many key areas including environmental awareness. Therefore, it was important for them to participate in a beach clean to understand the damage that litter can do to the coasts of Wales."
Clean Coast Week 2016 follows on from the success of the previous three campaigns, which saw over 325 events take place across the Welsh coast, with nearly 8,000 people getting involved in collecting more than 6,700 bags of rubbish.
