Two weeks left for budding event organisers to apply for Vale Council grants

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is offering financial support to local event organisers delivering unique and interesting events, along with the opportunity to hold their event on the recently refurbished Eastern Promenade at Barry Island… but those interested have only two more weeks in which to apply.

  
Isle of Fire PromenadeThe Council has previously supported many successful seaside events such as the Barry Island Fireworks Fiesta, Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival, Penarth Summer Festival and the Vale of Glamorgan Show. The local authority now wants to broaden the offer for 2016 while also helping independent events to establish themselves and grow.

 
The Council has available an events grant scheme from which event organisers can apply for funding of up to £1000. Organisers who wish to apply for funding for events taking place before the end of March 2017 should contact the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Events Team via email to sejones@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk.  Organisers will have to demonstrate that their event meets a number of criteria in order to qualify for funding.


The closing date for all applications to the events fund is 12.00 noon on Wednesday 31 August 2016.
