Vale Council aims to increase cycling opportunities
09 December 2016
THE Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Sports and Play Development team is working in partnership with Welsh Cycling to explore how to increase cycling opportunities within the Vale, particularly for young people and women.
The initiative would be part of Breeze Rides, a nationwide programme aiming to get more women riding bikes for fun and fitness, and would also support the Council’s Sports Development initiative, Girls on the Move.
As part of this programme, there will be organised cycle rides led by an experienced female cyclist called a Breeze Champion.
The rides are very social and, apart from your bike and helmet, no equipment is required. More information can be found on www.goskyride.com.
Anyone wanting further information, or to register interest, can contact Rachel Shepherd, part of the Sports Development team, on 07730 749485 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Information can also be found by following the team on twitter @valesportsnews, or facebook under the Vale Sports and Development team.
If you have an interest in cycling and want to become involved, as either a participant or volunteer, please let the Sports and Play Development team know.
