Llantwit Major Interpretation Boards

10 February 2016

Two brand new interpretation boards have been installed in the centre of Llantwit Major, as part of a Vale of Glamorgan Council economic development project.

The boards will be used to provide information for visitors and display information about Llantwit Major’s unique history, plus walks around the town and its attractions.

The boards are constructed from oak to match the style of the region’s Heritage Coast Boards.  Having a similar appearance will make it clear to tourists where they can find signposting and information, improving their overall visitor experience.

The boards can be found outside the train station and in the Town Hall car park.  In addition to the boards, new pavement way markers have been installed to direct visitors to the train station, the old town and Llantwit’ Major’s church. The additions were welcomed by Cllr Lis Burnett, Cabinet Member for Regeneration: “Llantwit Major with its rich history, beautiful coastline and historic buildings, has always been a popular visitor destination within the Vale of Glamorgan.  The newly installed interpretation boards compliment the features of the town and will enhance the experience of tourists, helping them to find out more about Llantwit Major during their visit.”
