B99 open-top service to include Penarth
24 June 2016
The recently introduced and popular ‘open-top’ B99 bus service is now operating an extended service from Barry Island through to Penarth.
The revised route now runs between Barry Island seafront and Penarth Town Centre and will take visitors to the Knap (Lakeside), Barry Waterfront, Sully, Cosmeston Country Park & Lakes, Penarth Esplanade and Pier. In addition, and instead of serving Barry Town Centre, the service will now call into the Barry Dock Railway Station ‘park & ride’ car park adjacent to the Dock Office, linking the bus with rail services.
The service, which is commercially operated by Harton Coaches, runs on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holiday Mondays up until Sunday, 4th September (inclusive).
Cllr Peter King, Cabinet Member for Building Services, Highways and Transportation, said: “The Vale of Glamorgan Council is delighted to announce the extension of this service to include Penarth.
“The service now opens up more of the Vale of Glamorgan to tourists and residents and the attractions they can enjoy.”
The timetable for the new service, along with all of the other transport options for visiting the Vale of Glamorgan, is available at www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/transport.
