New way of working to deliver affordable homes
Wednesday 30 March
A new partnership agreement designed to deliver more affordable homes for the Vale of Glamorgan has been signed by the Hafod, Newydd, United Welsh, and Wales and West housing associations, and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
The agreement sets out how the organisations will work together to ensure that the process of building new affordable homes in the Vale is as effective as possible. It covers a range of topics including working together strategically, agreeing standards for new homes, promoting low cost home ownership, and dealing with empty homes.
At the signing of the agreement, Cllr Bronwen Brooks, Cabinet member for Housing, Building Services & Community Safety, said: “The new partnership agreement cements what is already a very productive working relationship between the Council and the four housing associations.
“Together we work hard to develop the new homes that are needed to not only sustain communities across the Vale, but enable them to flourish. The agreement will enable us to work more closely than ever to achieve this.
“With the Homes for Wales campaign now in full swing, the timing could not be better. I know I speak for all involved when I say that we cannot wait to see the terms of this agreement start bearing fruit.”
