Bus Timetable enhancements
03 May 2016
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is pleased to announce the introduction of timetable amendments that will welcome visitors to the region during the summer months and provide a better service for residents.
The Council, along with Penarth Town Council have again provided financial support for the enhanced running of the weekend and bank holiday summer Service 91 (Cardiff – Cosmeston Country Park & Lakes via Cardiff Bay, Penarth Marina, Penarth Town Centre and Pier) operated by Cardiff Bus.
Additional shorter journeys, running between Penarth Marina (Barrage roundabout) and Cosmeston Country Park and Lakes, are also being provided to improve links with Penarth and its local attractions for visitors arriving in the area on foot after crossing the barrage. The service will run on Saturdays, Sundays and on bank holiday Mondays from Saturday, 30th April until Sunday, 25th September 2016.
Following requests from local residents, negotiations with Cardiff Bus have resulted in the 95A service (Cardiff City Centre – Penarth) being re-scheduled, with financial support being provided to serve Penarth Heights running via High Street and Arcot Street en route, as well as the Cowslip estate.
To achieve this, the service has been re-numbered for three routes; 95A, 95B and 95C. Services 95A and 95B will run between Cardiff and Penarth Town Centre on the same routes, but in opposite directions to each other in the Penarth area. The 95C will run between Cardiff City Centre and Leckwith Park & Ride (Cardiff City Stadium) only. These changes took effect from Monday 25 April 2016.
